Comment by Andrew Stephen DiMezza on April 29, 2011 at 6:07pm Meeting held at Cream City Rickshaw on Tuesday April 26th starting at roughly 6:50 PM (905 East Center Street, Milwaukee, WI)
In attendance: Dan Felix, Alex Engle, Andor, Dave ( I need their last names)
Meeting started with Dan and Andy picking up 2 pieces of exercise equipment from John Gorecki's and Claire More's home which were brought back to the cream city rickshaw.
The meeting went over some of the basics of how a battery works, how a system would work, and how to gather some resources to make multiple bikes. It was decided that the project would mostly be people working on their individual projects and then convening on Tuesdays for show and tell sessions as well as to work on a collaborative group system.
The basic schematic that was chosen at the end of the meeting is
Bike -> DC Motor (what ever happens to be available) -> Charge Controller (morning star it seems) -> Battery ( to be determined by individual designs) -> Dump Contoller. I
Websites, people, and tech to check out.
- thebackshed.com: excellent resource for informaiton.
- Swee Sim: offered space in bayview in order to have two groups. One in riverwest and another in Bayview.
- Morning Star sunsaver 10 charge controller (about 65 dollars)
- look for power supplies for Dan's experimental idea. Look for power supplies that have output voltages of 12 to 18 volts. It should be auto switching voltage, and it should have a range of voltages it takes as an input.
- Dan felix will make a short list of what we will need in order to possibly get some funding from Theresa Kenney.
- We need to do outreach and bring more people into the group.
- Next meeting on Tuesday, April 3rd. A system will be built
