Awesome Bee Certification course at UEC

I am attending the course taught by Charlie and Jesse at the UEC...3 classes, each 2 hours.  It is a wonderful class and I am floored by the knowledge presented.  Bees are INTEGRAL!  i had no idea.  can't wait to start beekeeping this summer.

top bar hives are immediately accessibly to city gardeners and this kind of hive doesn't require a lot of extra equipment.  i'm definitely going to be investing in a top bar hive.  its great for children and the elderly as well.  stackable hives can be a full-time job  from what I've been learning and the lifting requirements would probably be beyond my ability...sometimes a box can weigh 80 lbs.  i would not be able to lift that above waist height!
