One more thing...

Is anyone interested in helping me develop and/or perform a 2-minute soapbox moment for the All-City gathering on Saturday at Club TImbuktu? This is an opportunity to learn more about the different grass-roots movements in Milwaukee and dance to some amazing music!

Hello Everyone:

Here is information on our next meeting:

Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2012 at 6:30 pm. At the meeting Andor will give a short presentation on how to make solar hot water, and solar hot air, panels.  This will introduce you to the low cost, fast payback of DIY systems.  Directly impact your heating and energy bills, kick start your gardens, save the planet.

Thankyou Natalie Berland.

A small group of us had our first meeting for Power Down '12 this past Fri., the 10th.

Next meeting- March 2nd, 6:30pm, at 601 E. Wright St.

Andor will be teaching how to make a solar panel in "30 seconds". Come see how he does this.

Here is a recap.beyond the intro and the reviews of what has been achieved in the past 2 years, we (6 of us), looked at where we see PDW going.

The date for the week has been selected; July 7th-13th.

The big Question- Who is going to be the central coordinator?

...and Central Location? Pink House Studio will no longer be available.

Purpose? Education was a main interest, and workshops were a method to get public involved.

We need to get into the press!

There was suggestion of written proposal for grants for workshops for building your own bike generator, or something like that. There has been a preposal written up in the past, and we can use that as a rough.

Also discussed, solar heating gardens/ cooling gardens/ green houses DIY projects.

Fund raising was also discussed. Anyone interested in hosting bicycle blender drinks for donations at the Public House?

Other fun-d raising events?

Each one of us will contact an organization and ask of interest/involvement to increase our PR.

Improvements;

PR and outreach, always helpful to build.

Need workshop calender out sooner, and more improved methods of distribution.

Need someone designation in saying "Thankyou" and acknowledging all who participated. Everyone deserves acknowledgment.

And there was more.

Claire

We also had rather dismal attendance of our first power down meeting so I am thinking of canceling the week. The few people that did turn up said no! we can't cancel it! So we picked one more meeting time; Sunday January 9th 4:30-6:30 at the Pink House Studio. If you liked power down week or want to be a part next year this maybe your last chance to show up and make sure it happens!
