Rebuilding Community Resilience & Self-Reliance

I talked with Paula at the Domes and she said that Natalie reserved a table for this event. Has anyone signed up to table this event?  The water group will be there, with a watershed demonstration. Chris

I'll be there. We have a few issues on our hands as the presentation season is warming up. Communication on our end and with those that are putting on event seems to be issue. It's wonderful that so many events are going on but at the same time it presents challenges and choices. The event coordinators need to inform one of us early and we all need to know about the event so that we can plan for it.

I've been in a holding pattern with the April 2 Domes event for 2 months waiting for the official flier to be pushed out so we could put on ning and prepare. Made a phone call 3 days ago to grease the wheels on this. This should be in our in box soon but this is kind of late and makes things difficult

Same thing happening right now for April 12th.  I've been waiting for Interfaith to send out the info on Economics of Happiness at the Times. This is a one time event with only one showing in Milwaukee. 800 people attended this in Portland OR. I was asked personally to have a TM presence there and to promote it. That flier as well was not sent on to me so had no change to promote it.

Additionally back in December I was talking with Linda prior to taking off for Cuba and discussed a Milwaukee presentation for the spring. Now the event was planned for April 12th without coordination with the Outreach group. So now we have a major scheduling problem. As we grow and truly become a Hub the level of communication and coordination must grow as well. Otherwise situations like this will come up over and over again. Both events are truly special and worth attending but now choices must be made and our impact is diluted.

I personally have made a verbal commitment to the Tosa event so I must attend. I also wanted to hear about Cuba but will have to wait till I hang out again with Little John (Linda's partner) as I did when he made a surprise visit to the Land of OZ on thursday.( OZ is in the middle of a deconstruction and in the middle of being repurposed in the land of sweet waters)

I don't want to add another layer of meetings to TM but clearly we need some kind of structure around outreach so that these unfortunate scheduling issues can be avoided. We need a point person(s) that is promptly informed of all events and can facilitate so that things go more smoothly

Hi Tom, glad that you will be at Green Living.  One point of clarification, Paula said that VGI and TM are sharing a table at this event.  Based on the amount of  outreach material we have , are we a large enough organization to have a table of our own?   Concerning the Tosa Green Summit, through Mike Arney, I reserve a TM table  for Peak Oil and Permaculture outreach for the Tosa Green Summit. Barbara Richards is signed up as well. Chris

I believe TM should have it's own table. It gets too confusing for the public when two organizations are at the same table.
