Why are you interested in the Transition movement?
Because it is one of the few attempts to address the future that is positive, hopeful and communal in nature.
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Member of water group
What skills, talents, and resources do you bring to the Transition movement?
Twenty-five years of vegetable, herb and edible weed gardening experience. I own and operate a small business repairing and reupholstering furniture. I live a pretty frugal, recycle, reuse, make it yourself or do without kind of life. I have many other skills but whether or not they are appropriate to list here is another matter.
Which topics within Transition most interest you, and what are you most interested in getting out of your involvement in the Transition Movement?
Sustainable food production, edible wild plants, food preservation, water conservation, water quality and communal living. I hope to learn as much as possible and to share whatever skills and information I have with others. I hope to meet and work with others who are committed to creating strong community connections and to finding ways to reduce energy use as well as our impact on the earth and its resources.

I'm going to send out another e-mail to the VGI list soon. I'd like to do monthly outings and I think there are a lot of folks itching to get back out there with a larger group.
Would you be interested in taking on more of a leadership role with these outings? The structure of the last one seemed to work well - we broke up into two smaller groups and each group had at least one somewhat experienced forager to help the others find the edibles a bit quicker/easier and help with positive ID.
Hi Barbara: Wanted to say hello last night as well, but had to run away. With my little one, morning comes pretty darn early so by the time I motorscooted home it was nearly 9:30. Next time.
Was thinking of you the other day when my daughter was pulling seedpods off the daylilies. I need to look into this edible more.
Hi, and welcome. I live in Bay View and am interested in edible weeds too! And I am an organic gardener. Also I'm studying electricity as I would LOVE to get "off the grid" as they say. That's a long way in the future, but at least I have made a start!! :)
