Why are you interested in the Transition movement?
I've had an interest in environmental issues for 30 years. I'm convinced that moving towards a local economy and food production (natural farming), renewable energy is the foundation of all other healthy changes. I don't believe that technology, especially without a new mindset, is enough.
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Right now I am limited to non-physical projects. But here, we do organic gardening and buy only organics and have installed passive solar. I research on the environmental factors that impact our health (human and Nature).
What skills, talents, and resources do you bring to the Transition movement?
I hope to get a more "hands on" involvement with gardening, etc. but now my interest is focused the philosophy of the movement (degree in environmental phil.) My skills were as a health practitioner years ago --studying nutrition and environmental factors in health. Now, I am interested in establishing a solid philosophy and writing about it.
Which topics within Transition most interest you, and what are you most interested in getting out of your involvement in the Transition Movement?
Given the findings of people like Lester Brown, I feel that it is crucial to get the food situation going first--even before energy --for security. Now, I am most interested in bring these issues to public awareness. The questions for me are: What is being done to help this along? And, what new ideas can we bring to the campaign?
