Profile Information

Why are you interested in the Transition movement?
I want to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem when it comes to leaving a livable planet for my children.
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I just heard about it, and I am very interested in the grass roots movement towards full spectrum sustainability.
What skills, talents, and resources do you bring to the Transition movement?
I am an operations forester at the Forest Biomass Innovation Center operated by Michigan State University in Escanaba, Michigan. I know a little bit about short rotation woody crops like hybrid poplar and hybrid willow, and hybrid aspen
Which topics within Transition most interest you, and what are you most interested in getting out of your involvement in the Transition Movement?
I live in a multigenerational home in a rural area with an interest in growing my own biomass fuel, growing more of my food, and recently building an aquaponics system in a small greenhouse with a biomass gasifier.
Organizations you belong to that might collaborate with Transition
I plan to meet with a transition group that has started near the Marquette Munising area in the Upper Peninsula. I also would like to get our community college, Bay College, to put more demonstration projects up and get more renewable energy subjects into their curriculum
