Why are you interested in the Transition movement?
Because we are trashing the planet and need to get back to nature and living lightly. The Transition movement is moving in the right direction towards sustainability.
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I am not currently involved in the Transition movement other than trying to reduce my consumption by changing what I buy and how I live.
What skills, talents, and resources do you bring to the Transition movement?
I have a good understanding of what is happening to the planet as far as peak oil, peak natural gas, water shortages, soil depletion, over fishing our oceans, permafrost thaw, the threat of phytoplankton disappearing from the oceans, etc. I am passionate about doing whatever I can to help save the planet and humanity.
Which topics within Transition most interest you, and what are you most interested in getting out of your involvement in the Transition Movement?
I think growing food locally is critical although I don't know that much about growing food. Another issue of great importance is deep energy retrofits for our homes. I hope to join with other people in the Transition Movement to share knowledge about growing food, energy efficiency, and building community. I also want to work with others to help educate the public.
