- Why are you interested in the Transition movement?
- I'm concerned about a coming reduction in the supply of oil and other energy resources, and am coming to terms with the steps we need to take to prepare for it.
- How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
- Nothing directly at this time, but I have a prepared 20-minute talk/lecture on the coming energy changes, trying to give some understanding about what's going to happen.
- What skills, talents, and resources do you bring to the Transition movement?
- I grew up on a family farm and lived through the major changes, eventually becoming an engineer. I can talk all day about life before "modern" agriculture, when manure was the only fertilizer, crop rotation was the only weed control, when every farmhouse had composting toilets (out-houses), solar clothes dryers (a clothesline), a huge garden, an orchard, and a managed woodlot (for heating, cooking, and construction lumber).
- Which topics within Transition most interest you, and what are you most interested in getting out of your involvement in the Transition Movement?
- My interest is in the process. How do we change from the cheap energy society we have now in an orderly fashion to a future society where energy is much more expensive and limited?

My impetus to join TransitionMilwaukee was mostly power things and I would very much like to fashion an off-the-grid light for my side porch as a starter project.
