Profile Information

Why are you interested in the Transition movement?
Transition offers a positive vision, an inclusive and transparant process, and taps the power of community and the creativity of ordinary people. It is a constructive alternative to the catastrophe that awaits us. Without this alternative Human life has become unsustainable. The haves are plundering the have-nots and the gap is widening. The rate of plunder exceeds the rate of renewal. We are depleting our limited resources. Our waste and pollution threatens the biosphere. The social backbones of family and community are increasingly failing and disconnected from our core values. Our values move increasingly toward materialism and fascism. Transition offers a brighter future.
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I was one of the initiators and member of the Steering Group of Transition Town Media, the first official initiative in Pennsylvania. I also led workshops and presentations throughout the greater Philadelphia area. Upon returning to Milwaukee in 2011, I joined the Steering Committee here and am getting involved with workshops and presentations in SE Wisconsin.
What skills, talents, and resources do you bring to the Transition movement?
I teach, offer talks and workshops, and write articles about various aspects of sustainability in a variety of setting.
Which topics within Transition most interest you, and what are you most interested in getting out of your involvement in the Transition Movement?
Positive vision, lifestyle change, spiritually fulfilling journey.
